Male and Female High School Students Should be Educated in...

A debate has centered recently on the argument of whether strategy for students at high school should be applied to obtain a successful education system, with a voice calling for providing the appropriate environment of education for both gender-students that assists them to concentrate better on their studies and eliminate all aspects of disruptions. Fulfilling such strategies would improve the quality of education at high schools and raise the range of obtaining high marks. However, should boys and girls be educated separately at high school in order to have higher marks? People claim that when both sexes study in the same class rooms their confidence level will increase and the relation between both sexes will deepen and strengthen its†¦show more content†¦Secondly, many factors can influence the performance of students at high schools badly and lower the rate of their academic achievement as a relationship between students from the opposite gender can disperse their con centration on their studies at some circumstances, especially teenager students. ‘Preoccupied and disturbed by what is called immature love games; sympathizing and starting to develop a certain feeling towards a student from the opposite sex’ and thereby losing their focus and concentration in study, (Riordan, 1990). Starting at the adolescence stage, the girlfriend/boyfriend factor can become more than just a minor distraction, and can have a bad effect on the academic progress, whereas such cases can be simply avoided by the single sex high schools, (Ibid). Due to the fact that ‘laddish’ or ‘macho’ culture seems to be more in evidence in co-educational schools (Tylor, 2005). This has become an increasingly adverse influence on students and increased the ‘anti learning attitude’ as the central factor to it is that it is simply unpleasant to show a real interest in academic work, (Ibid).
